Toxic Beach

This beach in County Durham bears the stain of a century of coal mining and associated industries. The legacy is a tide of chemical reaction with the sea, sand and stones creating a lunar like landscape of intense colour and crystallised texture. Despite the dead zone aspect it remains a hauntingly beautiful place. The whole series is around 40 photographs.
